3 INTRODUCTION
One month after reception of the "initial information letter", the participant may submit a
request for redress if, in his point of view, there has been a shortcoming in the way the
proposal has been evaluated that may affect the final decision on whether to fund it or not,
or if the results of the eligibility checks seem incorrect.
The request must be:
o related to the to the Guide for Applicants for the call and funding scheme in
question;
o registered on Cordis: http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/redress_en.html within the
time limit;
o sent by the proposal coordinator.
The redress committee will review the report and will recommend an appropriate course of
action to the Commission services responsible for the call for proposals concerned. If there
is clear evidence that a shortcoming that could affect the eventual funding decision, it is
possible that all or part of the proposal will be re-evaluated.
Please note:
1. This procedure is concerned with the evaluation and/or eligibility checking process. The
committee will not call into question the scientific or technical judgment of
appropriately qualified experts.
2. A re-evaluation will only be carried out if there is evidence of a shortcoming that affects
the final decision on whether to fund it or not.1
3. The evaluation score following any re-evaluation will be regarded as definitive.
4. Only one request for redress per proposal will be considered by the committee.
5. All requests for redress will be treated in confidence.

This new feature allows to extract automatically the data from the Rivet application and to
bundle the data into a zip package. Then this “redress package” is attached to the proposal.
Besides, a specific report has been implemented to list the redress cases.

Note:
The redress option in Rivet offers the ability to easily generate a redress package. The
redress process in itself is NOT managed by Rivet: the data concerning the redress
procedure entered in Rivet are only there for information and neither correlated with the
redress application nor transferred to the EC premises.
The above mentioned procedure remains the official steps to perform in case of redress.
4 HOW TO ACCESS THE REDRESS INFORMATION PAGE?
Click on the proposal number on the rivet home page to enter the “Proposal overview”
page. The “Redress Information page” is located in the bottom right corner of the page:

Click on “Go to the Redress Information page”:
The following page displays:
From that page, you can:
o Enter comments on the redress status of a proposal;
o Change the redress status of a proposal;
o Create automatically the redress package of a proposal and attach it to the
proposal;
o Attach additional files to the proposal for redress information;
o Specify a redress call if the proposal is reevaluated;
o Specify a new proposal number if the proposal is resubmitted.

5 ENTER REDRESS INFORMATION: REASON OF REDRESS
1. Click on the “Edit” button, the form is now enabled.
2. Insert your comments in the “Comments” field.
3. Click on “Save”.
6 SET OR CHANGE THE REDRESS STATUS OF A PROPOSAL
Rivet is able to handle several cases of redress reasons:
Redress without re-evaluation
Redress with evaluation
o in the same call with no proposal resubmission
o In a different call with a proposal resubmission

Click on “Edit”, choose the redress status required from the dropdown list and click on
“Save”
Note:
In case of redress with re-evaluation, you have to select the call ID in the “Redress Call” list.
If no call has been selected the following error message displays on top of the page:
“Redress Call is missing”.

7 ATTACHMENTS
In order to attach a file to the Redress Information:
o Click on “Edit” (1): the “Browse” button under the “Attach additional files”
menu is activated.
o Click on the “Browse” (2) button and select a file (see rules below for file
formats).
Note
1. Only Word, Excel, PDF and RTF files can be uploaded, if you trying to import another
format, the following error message appears: “Invalid file format (Only Word, Excel, PDF,
ZIP and RTF files are allowed)”.
2. Files may not exceed 4Mb, if your file exceeds this limit, the following message
appears:”The attached file exceeds the maximum upload size”.
3. Duplicate filenames are forbidden, in case of duplicate names, the following message
appears: “A file with the same name is already attached”.
8 GENERATE THE REDRESS PACKAGE
In order to pack all data into a ZIP file, click on “Generate the Redress package”:

After a few seconds2, a ZIP file is generated and Rivet proposes you to open or save the file:

Note:
Rivet does not include the CVs of experts. Please retrieve the experts’ CVs from EMI.
9 REPORT
You can generate a report of the redress cases in the reporting menu.
In the reporting page, click on “Redress Cases” under “Documents” menu:
If no calls are selected from the filter, the report will lists all proposals involved in redress
cases, even for EC staff without access to your call.
This report contains different data such as the call name, the involved panel and all
information about the proposal (number, acronym, redress status, comments ...)

10 CPEB
The redress is indicated in CPEB, after the upload of the evaluation results.
A flag is added to the proposal table to indicate the proposal that has entered a redress
procedure.
